Bracket shaped, usually growing in tiers, broadly attached to the substrate, upper surface felty, becoming smooth with age, yellow brown to dark brown, sometimes with reddish drops, margin rounded, lower surface whitish, 2 to 4 pores per mm, to about 10 cm across
